During the 2009 season, it was fun to go into each game wondering “will this be the week someone gets the best of him?” and then it not happening. No matter who you blame, if a deal doesn’t get done, then us Jets fans are the ones who will (yet again) be the real casualties.
I understand that the business of sports and the on-field product will occasionally collide… I get that.
The thing that bothers me about this Jets-and-Revis situation is that I love rooting for that guy. He’s awesome. I love the whole Revis Island Thing. I like that I display his Bobblehead Doll on my fireplace’s mantel during Jets games. I just love watching him play, and that, as much as wins and losses, is what I am most disappointed about.
Please, I need this to be over with. I love when sports are just an escape. Money-matters always interfere with the state of mind I like to be in while watching the teams I root for. It’s too reality based. Sign him, PLEASE, so I can go back to dreaming of watching my Jets kiss the Lombardi Trophy in February.
