Yep. Look distributive justice in our society is a very complex one and requires serious discussion - the sort that can be misconstrued and taken out of context quite easily - so, of course I’d want to if possible have a much more thorough discussion of this and give a much longer answer about how wealth distribution has been impacted by issues such as discrimination and that has resulted in my family having unearned privilege in our society that will pass to my children and their children. And we will continue to see little to no upward mobility or access to the broader opportunity structure in our society. I challenge any of you in a graduate program in this country to stop a class this week and ask everyone in the room to raise their hand if they have a parent with an advanced degree - and feel free to share those results on tumblr. The numbers of those without hands up will be very small - shockingly small for those of you who have a sense of a meritocracy. So, the conversation that Obama was engaging in as a Scholar is a serious one that requires more than soundbite answers. But if forced to answer the straightforward question of am i cool with this. To quote Colonel Jessup.. You’re Goddam Right I am.Obama Bombshell Redistribution of Wealth Audio Uncovered (via NakedEmperorNews)I just want to be clear on this… are we going to ignore this because we want to get Obama into office, THEN ask the tough questions… or are we all cool with this?
