You guys realize he noted it was a fake account shortly after and outed the account, right?
Even the best screw up sometimes.
Batting average of .999 ain’t sh*t around here.
So you’re about to fly, but your plane is stuck on the tarmac. It’s really hot—because the airport in question is in Vegas. Minutes turn to hours. People are starting to go crazy, and a couple of people have passed out. What do you do? If you’re like the people on this flight, you break out into a singalong of “I Believe I Can Fly.” Which, incredibly, makes the whole wait kind of worth it. (ht Gawker)
Watch: PCB gets a visual shout out on GMA’s Yahoo/Tumblr report
At the 41 second mark!
Congrats to PCB, and that interview had painfully obvious talking points. Stephanopoulos called Karp a hipster, leading to awkwardness all around.

We shouldn’t publish full articles unless we have to (say, if the article gets taken down). A couple of key paragraphs is fine. People can click to read the rest. And the folks that don’t want to will just miss out.
You like Ezra Klein as a writer? Don’t take away his traffic. I don’t mean to pick on anyone, and this isn’t directed at anyone in particular, but it happens far too often on Tumblr. We have to start somewhere, right? So why not here? — Ernie @ SFB
Daily Beast media writer Howard Kurtz tries to expose a major hole in the Jason Collins story, fails miserably, gets called out for it on Twitter. Fun.

“People like you shouldn’t be able to drive a car, much less espouse your opinions in public.” So someone approached the dude who asked Deval Patrick the “false flag” question during a Boston Marathon press conference. And it’s a shouting match for the ages. (Warning: Strong language in clip; ht Raw Story)

We screwed up. It shouldn’t have taken a wave of constructive criticism — but it has — to alert us that we’ve made a mistake, possibly several mistakes. We now realize that as we explored new forms of digital advertising, we failed to update the policies that must govern the decisions we make along the way. It’s safe to say that we are thinking a lot more about these policies after running this ad than we did beforehand. In the meantime, we have decided to withdraw the ad until we figure all of this out. We remain committed to and enthusiastic about innovation in digital advertising, but acknowledge—sheepishly—that that we got ahead of ourselves. We are sorry, and we’re working very hard to put things right.
If you remember correctly, the ad was something of a spectacle. Fun to look at though.
This man’s signature is never going to stop being funny.
Since 2007, former FBI agent Bob Levinson has remained missing, but despite a video informing people of the danger he faces making the rounds in late 2011, little has been done to help him. So his family has taken another step, releasing photos of Levinson supposedly taken in Guantanamo, according to the signs Levinson’s holding — but more likely taken in an Iranian prison. His family received the photos 18 months ago, but held off on their release, only putting them out now because his plight wasn’t receiving enough attention.
After getting nominated last year, we’d like to suggest that, if you’re looking to nominate someone from Tumblr for the 2013 Shorty Awards, you nominate BrooklynMutt instead of us. Peter deserves it.
Totally flattered! Especially coming from a PRO like Ernie. Thank you!!!
