The debut of the new iPad today marks a media milestone as Rupert Murdoch’s nascent digital publication The Daily will soon become the world’s first HD newspaper — and it paves the way for others to follow suit.
The techies behind the cutting-edge, Big Apple-based periodical are busy designing an updated version of the Daily’s app that is optimized to run on the tablet’s new ultra-high-definition screen, with a pixel density of 2,048 by 1,536.
“The changes will be notable for the readers who have the new iPad,” said the Daily’s publisher, Greg Clayman, in an interview. “We design to make sure everything looks fantastic.
